Great Crested Newt Surveys in Cheshire, East Staffordshire, Manchester & Worcester

Great crested newt surveys

Udall-Martin Associates conducted great crested newt presence / absence surveys at proposed development sites across Cheshire, East Staffordshire and Manchester, and at the West Mercia Police Headquarters in Worcester.

We found great crested newts at all four sites (Middlewich, Burton-upon-Trent, Astley and Hindlip) and carried out further population estimate surveys to inform European Protected Species (EPS) mitigation licences.

Small, medium and large sized populations were recorded. Lesser silver water beetle was also recorded at the site in Cheshire. We produced great crested newt reports including detailed mitigation and licensing advice.

Work conducted for various environmental companies and a planning consultant between 2008 and 2011.
