Badger Survey and Mitigation for Resurfacing of 500m of Bridleway near Matlock, Derbyshire

We conducted a badger survey and mitigation for local authority in Derbyshire

Udall-Martin Associates conducted a badger survey for a bridleway and surrounding land in connection with proposed tree work and bridleway resurfacing. We recorded an active main sett, subsidiary/ outlying setts and extensive evidence of other badger activity.

Using up-to-date guidelines from Natural England (for ‘disturbance’ and ‘active’ setts) we produced a working Method Statement detailing mitigation and safe working procedures. This was submitted to and approved by Natural England without need for amendments. A site meeting was carried out with site contractors to ensure that all mitigation measures were fully understood and implemented.

Work conducted for a local authority between 2010 and 2011.
